Instruction
- I have an ACA Basic Coastal certification with a Traditional Endorsement, and BCU 4-star. I teach for OOPS, the Oregon Ocean Paddling Society.
- Tim Mattson is an ACA open coastal instructor in the Olympia and Ilwaco, WA areas and offers custom kayak instruction drawing from the best of traditional, euro, and wing paddles.

- Henry Romer is an ACA open coastal open instructor with a traditional endorsement in Olympia, WA. He is also a BCU level 3 coach, and 5* trainee. Henry doesn't have a web site, but can be reached at hromer [at] aol {dot} com.
- Ginni Callahan, at Columbia River Kayaking is a BCU 5* paddler, level 4 coach and an Advanced open Coastal ACA instructor.
Symposia
- SSTIKS is a traditional paddling gathering in June at Twanoh State Park in Washington. Includes instruction at all levels, games, food, boat building and paddle carving and whole family fun.
- Delmarva Paddlers' Retreat is another traditional skills oriented paddlers' gathering in Delaware. Since 1988.
- TAKS is yet another traditional paddler's get-together in San Simeon or Mendocino, California.
- The West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium, in Port Townsend, WA is the largest event of its kind on the west coast. Sponsored by the Trade Association of Paddlesports.
